SMP & Beard Tattoo

Scalp micropigmentation for thinning, receding, or shaved heads. Beard tattoo work to fill patchy spots. Sharp look, zero maintenance — by Bri'Lasha.

About SMP & Beard Tattoo

Precision pigment. Real-looking results.

SMP (scalp micropigmentation) deposits tiny dots of pigment to mimic the appearance of hair follicles — perfect for thinning hairlines, receding crowns, alopecia, or a clean shaved-head look.

Beard tattoo work fills patchy or scarred areas of facial hair for fuller, more even coverage — ideal for clients with bald spots, scars, or sparse growth.

Both are tattoos. Semi-permanent. Custom-matched to your natural color. Built over 1–2 sessions for the most natural-looking result, with touch-ups every 2–3 years.

Aftercare

What to do at home.

SMP healing happens in the first two weeks. Following the aftercare protocol is what makes the difference between sharp, long-lasting pigment and faded, blotchy results.

  1. Keep the area dry — no showers on the treated area for 4 days.
  2. No shaving the treated area for 5–7 days post-session.
  3. Sun protection is critical — UV fades pigment fast. Wear a hat or SPF 50+ daily.
  4. No swimming, sauna, hot tub, or heavy sweating for 10 days.
  5. No skincare actives (retinol, AHA/BHA, exfoliants) on the area for 14 days.
  6. Light moisturizer once cleared by Bri'Lasha (typically day 8+).
  7. Book your touch-up session 3–6 weeks after the first for best results.

FAQ

Common questions.

How long does SMP last?

4–6 years before significant fading. Touch-ups every 2–3 years keep it looking fresh and sharp.

Does it hurt?

Mild to moderate. Topical numbing is applied throughout. Comparable to a regular tattoo — most clients say less intense than they expected.

Will it look natural?

Yes, when done right. Pigment is matched to your existing hair color (or to the desired look for shaved styles), and the pattern follows your natural hair growth direction.

Can I shave my head normally after?

Yes — after the initial healing period. Clipper-shaved is fine. Razor-shaved over the SMP area is also fine. Both look natural.

What if my hair is going gray?

Pigment is matched to where your hair is now. As you go grayer, the SMP can be lightened or blended at touch-ups to keep the match.

How many sessions for full beard fill?

Most clients need 1–2 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart for the most natural blend.
